Corporate Staff Accountant

Solstice Consulting Group is seeking a Corporate Staff Accountant for an energy-related client in Houston, TX.

Base up to $78k DOE plus 10% bonus opportunity and benefits

4 days per week in office (West Houston) / 1day WFH

Essential Job Functions:

The Staff Accountant role includes general accounting responsibilities such as financial statements, general ledger, bank reconciliation, as well as supporting financial reports.

The Staff Accountants responsibilities include:

• Reconcile balance sheet accounts including bank reconciliations, and general ledger accounts.




• Analyzing current and past trends in key performance indicators including all areas of revenue, cost of sales, and expenses




• Monitoring performance indicators, highlighting trends, and analyzing causes of unexpected variances




• Assisting in the preparation of quarterly and monthly financial reports, as well as presentations to the Senior Management Team




• Helping develop a systems and processes-oriented culture by walking through and documenting key processes and procedures, and training other members of the Finance team to do the same




• Supporting Senior Management Team and departments across the Company with in-depth analysis as needed

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in accounting and 2+ years experience




• Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred




• Experienced in GL, financial reporting, reconciiations and variance analysis required




• Strong ERP and MS Excel skills required
