Specialized Experience GS-5: To qualify based on your work experience, your resume must describe at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-4 grade level or equivalent pay band in the Federal service which includes: 1) Assisting higher graded engineering technicians with assignments; 2) Extracting data from a variety of sources; 3) Keeping records and preparing reports.
This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-04). Specialized Experience GS-6: To qualify based on your work experience, your resume must describe at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-5 grade level or equivalent pay band in the Federal service which includes: (1) Recognizing and reporting errors, inconsistencies and/or defects in drawings and schematics; 2) Extracting data from a variety of sources; 3) Keeping records and preparing reports. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05). Specialized Experience GS-7: To qualify based on your work experience, your resume must describe at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-6 grade level or equivalent pay band in the Federal service which includes;: (1) Preparing complete sets of shop drawings from layouts or sketches of test equipment to be manufactured; (2) Interpret plans and specifications from the design originator, technical handbooks, manuals, and manufacturers’ publications. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06). Specialized Experience GS-8: To qualify based on your work experience, your resume must describe at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-6 grade level or equivalent pay band in the Federal service which includes: (1) Creating and revising electrical, mechanical, and civil drawings and written documentation; (2) Utilizing standard drafting practices and procedures; (3) Using Computer Aided Design and Drafting (CADD) to create various designs and schematics. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07). Specialized Experience GS-9: To qualify based on your work experience, your resume must describe at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-6 grade level or equivalent pay band in the Federal service which includes: (1) Applying knowledge of engineering methods, techniques, materials and equipment, and safety practices; (2) Evaluating systems and equipment associated construction, repair, and maintenance projects; (3) Writing correspondence to customers, contractors or management to provide technical information or project updates (4) Reading and interpreting engineering plans and specifications. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-08).
