Sodexo is seeking a Facilities / Engineering Operations Manager 2 for Balboa Navy Medical Center located in San Diego, CA.

As the Maintenance Manager/O&M Maintenance Supervisor, oversees a new Facilities Maintenance contract at the Balboa Navy Medical Center (and outlying medical treatment facilities) in San Diego, CA. Will be responsible for all preventative and corrective maintenance, site safety, quality control, quality assurance, mandatory reporting, inspections, etc. at the main hospital (1.4M sf) and 11 medical treatment facilities (total 2M sf).

Facilities/Engineering Operations Manager 2 (a.k.a. Maintenance Manager/O&M Maintenance Supervisor) Qualifications and Experience:

-Technically qualified in the field of Healthcare Facilities Maintenance and shall have, as a minimum, five (5) years of experience in hospital operations and maintenance, including the supervision of a diversified work force responsible for 24-hour (24/7/365) operations, maintenance and repair of medical or commercial facility infrastructure systems.

-At least teo (2) years of experience in supervision, and a minimum experience of two (2) trades.

-Working experience with NFPA, EPA, TJC, OSHA codes and standards.

– Experience with The Joint Commission compliance (maintenance and documentation [including all DMLSS work requests and all supporting testing/certification/verification (in-house or subcontracted) documentation] requirements for Environment of Care (EOC) and Life Safety (LS) compliance) as required for healthcare facilities, is desirable.

-Experience in a government health care environment is desirable.

-Able to perform all maintenance operations necessary to execute all scheduled maintenance and unscheduled maintenance events in accordance with established regulatory requirements.

-Able to negotaiate, manage, and supervise all specialty subcontracted work.

– Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.

    -plant operations and maintenance management experience in a healthcare environment;

    -experience with the Join Commission, Environment of Care (EOC), OSHA and Life Safety requirements;

    -strong technical knowledge of the following: mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, structural, fire protection, safety systems, civil, low voltage, demolition, architectural and energy management;

    -business and financial acumen with a strong P&L understanding;

    -excellent customer service and communication skills;

    -staff development and team building experience;

    -Certified Healthcare Facilities Manager (CHFM) is a plus; and

    -a bachelor’s degree in engineering or related fields preferred.

Position Summary

Back up to GM; 2nd in command; Supervises the account as the #2 manager and has full responsibility including supervision of other managers. Responsible for entire account when the Director of Facilities Ops is not present.Two scenarios for this position in Univ.:A) Has all facilities rolling up – Custodial / maintenance and grounds, and FM who reports to GM; very large integrated operation.B) Mega account – multiple managers of maintenance; PM function; other specific managers – unifying position.

Key Duties- Manage other managers; manage by walking around (rounding); Staffs, trains, and is responsible for employee development- client interface; – payroll oversight;- budgetary oversight on some services; – Oversees and coordinates projects- Manages work orders/CMMS- Manages mechanicals (i.e. HVAC)- Manages QA and Safety

Basic Education Requirement – Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience

Basic Management Experience – 5 years

Basic Functional Experience – 3 years work experience in facilities maintenance, plant operations or engineering services
