To qualify for the GS-09 level, applicants must have at least one full year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 level in Federal service. Qualifying experience should involve performing the following types of duties: identifying and resolving problems, troubleshooting cause and providing recommendations for resolution, providing user training on hardware, software, and internet applications; and providing help desk support to users. OR To qualify for the GS-09 level based on education, applicants must have a master’s degree or equivalent degree or two full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree in a closely related field. OR To qualify for the GS-09 level, applicant has a combination of specialized experienced described above and graduate education as described above in which when combined equal 100% of the requirements. (Only graduate education in excess of one full year may be used in this calculation). GS-11
To qualify for the GS-11 level, applicants must have at least one full year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09 level in Federal service. Qualifying experience should involve performing the following types of duties: troubleshooting, recovering, and resolving recurring software/hardware problems; providing user training and assistance on a variety of applications; assisting in the configuration, installation, and maintenance of network monitoring and management; assisting in office wide account maintenance and software/hardware updates. OR To qualify for the GS-11 level based on education, applicants must have a Ph.D. degree or equivalent degree or three full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree in a closely related field. OR To qualify for the GS-11 level, applicant has a combination of specialized experienced described above and graduate education as described above in which when combined equal 100% of the requirements. (Only graduate education in excess of two full year may be used in this calculation). Interagency Career Transition Assistance Plan (ICTAP)- The ICTAP provides eligible displaced Federal competitive service employees with selection priority over other candidates for competitive service vacancies. If your agency has notified you in writing that you are a displaced employee eligible for ICTAP consideration, you may receive selection priority if: 1) this vacancy is within your ICTAP eligibility; 2) you apply under the instructions in the announcement; and 3) you are found well-qualified for this vacancy. To be well-qualified, you must satisfy all qualification requirements for the vacant position and receive a score of 85 or better on established ranking criteria. You must provide proof of eligibility to receive selection priority. Such proof may include a copy of your written notification of ICTAP eligibility or a copy of your separation personnel action form.
