Compatible military grade and assignment required prior to the effective date of placement. This is a Title 32 excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state’s National Guard. Military Grades: Enlisted E5 to E8; Officer 01 to 05 Selectee(s) must be within the military grade(s) listed in this job announcement prior to the effective date of placement into the technician position. Applicant(s) (Enlisted) who are over grade must clearly state, in their resumes, their intentions to willingly take a reduction in grade. Compatible Military Assignments: 3P0XX, 1D7X1, 1N0X1, 1N4XX GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience must be IT related; the experience may be demonstrated by paid or unpaid experience and/or completion of specific, intensive training (for example, IT certification). Must have IT-related experience demonstrating attentional to detail, customer service, oral communication and problem solving. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must have one year of specialized experience at the GS-09 level or equivalent. Experience that demonstrated accomplishment of computer project assignments that required a range of knowledge of computer requirements and techniques. Experience, education, or training that approaches techniques and requirements appropriate to an assigned computer applications area or computer specialty area in an organization. Experience planning the sequence of actions necessary to accomplish the assignment where this entailed coordination with others outside the organizational unit and development of project controls. Experience that required adaptations of guidelines or precedents to meet the needs of the assignment. Experience preparing documentation on cost/benefit studies where is involved summarizing the material and organizing it in a logical fashion. Experience in developing modifications to parts of a system that required significant revisions in the logic or techniques used in the original development. Knowledge of the customary approaches, techniques, and requirements appropriate to an assigned computer applications area or computer specialty area in an organization; Planning the sequence of actions necessary to accomplish the assignment where this entailed coordination with others outside the organizational unit and development of project controls; and Adaptation of guidelines or precedents to the needs of the assignment. Must possess a TOP SECRET clearance with SCI prior to appointment. This is an Information Security Workforce position. Selectee must meet position requirements for certification at Level II in Information Assurance Technician (IAT-II) within 6 months or less of appointment to this position. Certification requirements may be found in DoD 8570.01-M Information Security Workforce Improvement Program. This is a Testing Designated Position (TDP). The employee is subject to random drug testing. Preemployment drug testing and participation in random drug testing is a condition of employment.
