Who May Apply: US Citizens In order to qualify, you must meet the education/experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. BASIC REQUIREMENT: In addition to the specialized experience listed below, your resume must indicate IT-related experience demonstrating the four competencies: Attention to Detail – Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. Customer Service – Works with clients and customers to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations. Oral Communication – Expresses information to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information. Problem Solving – Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. AND To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as carrying out activities leading to security certification or accreditation; providing input in drafting information systems security documentation such as systems security plans, risk assessments, disaster recovery plans, business continuity plans, and user security guides. Responding to and ensuring resolution of any help center call and giving needed guidance or training to customers to prevent recurrences of IT issues. OR Possess a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree from a nationally accredited university that demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position. OR Combinations of successfully completed education and specialized experience described above may be used to meet the total qualification requirements at the GS-11 level.
