Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position.Specialized Experience: may include but is not limited to: Management of ISS projects that require extensive knowledge of IT hardware/software technology; experience preparing ISS systems documentation for certification/accreditation in accordance with FISMA, FedRAMP, and/or other federal IS guidelines or regulations; experience monitoring and evaluating systems’ compliance with IT security requirements.Applicants should include examples of Specialized Experience in their work history.ANDExperience must be IT related; the experience may be demonstrated by paid or unpaid experience and/or completion of specific, intensive training (for example, IT certification), as appropriate. Individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below:1. Attention to Detail – Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail.2. Customer Service – Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services.3. Oral Communication – Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately.4. Problem Solving – Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.ANDIn addition to the minimum qualifications, the following has been determined to be a Selective Placement Factor for this position. This means possession of this criterion is part of the minimum qualifications and is essential to perform the duties and responsibilities of this position. Applicants who do not possess this criterion are ineligible for further consideration.SELECTIVE PLACEMENT FACTOR (SPF): Applicant must possess one or more current intermediate level Information Security certifications from one of the following governing bodies: Comp TIA, ISACA, EC-Council, Global Information Assurance Certification (GIAC), International Information System Security Certification Consortium (ISC2), or International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP). Applicants must submit proof documentation of the certification(s) they hold.In addition to the above qualifications, the following has been determined to be a Quality Ranking Factor. This means applicants who possess this factor are considered to be Well-Qualified.QUALITY RANKING FACTOR (QRF): A well-qualified candidate will possess will have demonstrated experience and possession of the following areas: Addressing information Systems Security concerns of an organization by applying the Risk Management Framework (RMF) Security Life Cycle as an information security professional with experience creating and/or managing (in accordance with NIST or other Federal Departmental/Agency guidelines and regulations) the following: BIA, SSP, ISCP, SCD, CMP, PIA, and other security documents. Installing, maintaining, managing, and/or securing IT network devices or physical/virtual servers running on a variety of platforms (e.g. Linux/UNIX, Windows, Solaris, Oracle, SQL, MySQL, Cisco, etc.): Qualifications must be met by the closing date of this vacancy announcement.
