Specialized experience is experience that has equipped the applicant with the particular competencies/knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. This experience need not have been in the federal government. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations e.g., professional; philanthropic, religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies; knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience To qualify at the ZP-02 (GS-7) grade level: Applicants must possess one full year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent to the ZP-01 (GS-5) in the Federal service. Specialized experience MUST include all of the following: Experience with developing, deploying & debugging cloud applications. Knowledge of key features of Cloud Service Providers. AND Attention to Detail – Is through when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. Customer Service – Works with clients and customers (that is any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; know about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. Oral Communication – Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. Problem Solving – Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sounds judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. OR Education: One full year of graduate level education in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management or degree that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks. NOTE: YOU MUST PROVIDE YOUR TRANSCRIPTS OR SUPERIOR ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENT: Demonstrated by a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university education in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management or degree that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks, with one of the following. A grade point average (GPA) of 2.9 or higher based on a 4.0 scale for all completed undergraduate courses, or those completed in the last 2 full years of undergraduate study; A GPA of 3.5 or higher based on a 4.0 scale for required courses completed in a major field of study, or those courses completed in a major field of study during the last two years of undergraduate study; Class standing of upper third of the graduating class in the college, university, or major subdivision of the college. Membership in a national Scholastic Honor Society certified by the Association of College honor Societies, excluding freshman honor societies. All academic degrees and coursework must be from accredited or pre-accredited institutions. To qualify at the ZP-03 (GS-11) grade level: Applicants must possess one full year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent to the ZP-02 (GS-9) in the Federal service. Specialized experience MUST include all of the following: Experience with performing critical analysis and code reviews of cloud services. Coordinate testing efforts to identify and resolve cloud integration issues. Understanding of application lifecycle management. AND Attention to Detail – Is through when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. Customer Service – Works with clients and customers (that is any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; know about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. Oral Communication – Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. OR Graduate Education: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree OR 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree.
