Provides support to the Legal Response Operations Center (LEROC) and specializes in analyzing and responding to requests, subpoenas, court orders and search warrants with strong attention to detail in order to draw accurate conclusions in compliance with local and federal law in response to requests for subscriber information. Duties include researching privacy issues, troubleshooting insufficient requests and communicating with law enforcement, local, state and federal agencies, law firms and other issuing parties; The position reports to the LEROC Manager, interacts with fulfillment teams and law enforcement agencies to ensure accurate and timely compliance. This position is fast-paced and detail oriented. It requires excellent communication, organization, interpersonal, writing, and proofreading skills. Candidate should be able to prioritize assignments and work independently as well as in a team environment.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION:
Analyze and process incoming subpoenas, search warrants, court orders and other compulsory legal process to ensure proper service and confer with issuing party regarding the scope of their request, the availability of the information requested and status of the response.
Input information and data utilizing various databases and subpoena tracking systems to monitor the subpoena process and ensure accuracy of records provided. Organizes and tracks database, transactions and responses ensuring detailed records and legal compliance with all requests has been met.
Serve as liaison for internal clients, law enforcement, law firms, local, state and federal agencies and customers.
Perform complex administrative duties requiring independent judgment and initiative by identifying and resolving routine legal issues under the supervision of manager and managing attorney.
Resolves routine compliance, privacy or legal response issues under direction of manager and supervising attorney.
Perform other duties as required.
Paralegal certification and 2+ years working in law enforcement, law firm or corporate law department.
Prior experience analyzing information for investigative purposes and dealing with law enforcement and attorneys.
Familiarity with the criminal and civil court process.
Knowledge of cable and telecommunications products and services
