The Principal Compliance Specialist role within the Enterprise Collections and Card Operations Compliance Advisory team will support Enterprise Collections and Recovery and other card related activities specific to consumer protection laws. This includes issue identification, compliance risks and mitigations in the context of incident reviews and remediation, regulatory change management, business change management, policies and procedure reviews, and quarterly, monthly and periodic monitoring of first line processes.

Responsible for maintaining and enhancing department or functional units in support of the overall compliance program components.


Assists with researching and understands regulatory compliance requirements to evaluate whether business policies, procedures, training, systems, processes, and controls comply with consumer protection laws; and to articulate those risks to stakeholders

  • Assists with the identification and assessment of compliance program risks and controls.
  • Supports management in the development, implementation, and maintenance of compliance programs and a culture of compliance.
  • Engages with business and risk partners to develop compliant solutions to mitigate and remediate consumer compliance risks; escalates risks appropriately
  • Understands Compliance Management System (CMS) components and the requirements of established CMS programs and promotes a culture of compliance

Minimum Qualifications

At a minimum, here s what we need from you:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in any field
  • 6+ years of experience in compliance, law, risk management, or related field
  • In lieu of a degree, 10+ years of experience in compliance, law, risk management, or related field

Preferred Qualifications

If we had our say, we d also look for:

  • Master’s Degree in Business, Security, Law, Computer Science, Data Analytics, or Risk
  • 8+ years of experience in compliance, law, risk management, or related field
  • Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager
  • JD, CRCM, CRMP, RIMS, or similar license/certification
