Description:
The Speech Language Pathologist provides and directs Speech Therapy Services to patients to include assessment and treatment, development and implementation of programs, and related professional in-services. Performs duties under the direction of physicians orders.
Responsibilities include:
Provide exceptional patient care
Conduct screenings of patients at regular intervals to determine need for intervention/treatment
Perform Evaluations
Interprets and communicates evaluation findings to patient, family and other team members
Provide treatment planning
Documentation
Participates in discharge planning
Demonstrates sound judgement
Other duties as deemed necessary
Requirements
Masters Degree in Speech Language Pathology {graduate of a masters level program in Speech-Language Pathology whose course work and practice meet the American Speech-Language and Hearing Association (ASHA) certification requirements.}
Certificate of Clinical Competency or eligible for Clinical Fellowship Year
Licensed to practice in the state
Demonstrates good skills in all forms of communication
Maintains education and development appropriate for position
Works well with others in a spirit of team work and cooperation
Performs position specific job functions at an acceptable level
Supports health system mission, vision and values
Adheres to established hospital and department guidelines
must understand and follow policies and procedures of the department and demonstrate compliance with accreditation and regulatory compliance requirements.
