You MUST be either currently enrolled, or accepted for enrollment into a qualifying educational program beginning the next available school term to qualify for this program. Current students in an accredited high school, college (including 4-year colleges/universities, community colleges, and junior colleges); professional, technical, vocational, and trade school; advanced degree programs; or other qualifying educational institution pursuing a qualifying degree or certificate. You must be enrolled or formally accepted for enrollment as a full-time or half-time (Half-time basis is defined by the academic institution that the student is enrolled or accepted into) student into an accredited college or university in a qualifying degree-seeking program, or enrolled or formally accepted for enrollment in a qualifying certificate program; Students must have a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of at least a 2.0 on a 4.0 scale (or equivalent) at time of application and must maintain at least a 2.0 GPA throughout the entire Pathways Student Trainee Internship appointment to remain in the program; Applicants MUST submit proof of acceptance along with your current transcripts for consideration. You must meet all qualifications and eligibility requirements by the closing date of this announcement. If selected, you must sign a Pathways Participant Agreement; be able to furnish course registration at the start of each school term; and be able to provide verification of academic status (official transcript) at the end of each academic term. Experience and/or Education Requirements: GS-3 Completion of 1 full academic year of post-high school study or 6 months general experience or combination of post-high school education and general experience. Post high-school education must be in an Information Technology related field of study. GS-4 Completion of 2 full academic years of post-high school study or an associate degree or 1-year general experience or combination of post high school education and general experience. Post high-school education must be in an Information Technology related field of study. You MUST be accepted for enrollment or currently enrolled in a qualifying degree or certificate in an Information Technology related field of study, and all applicants must be in good academic standing and must have at least a 2.0 GPA. NOTE: If you are graduating at the end of the current semester and do not plan on pursuing additional education, you are NOT eligible for this position. **An academic year of undergraduate education is defined as 30 semester hours, 45-quarter hours, or the equivalent in an accredited college or university or 36 weeks at an accredited business, technical, vocational, or qualifying educational institution for at least 20 classroom hours per week.** **An academic year of graduate education is defined as 18 semester hours or 27 quarter hours should be considered as satisfying the 1 year of full-time study requirement or the number of credit hours that the school attended has determined to represent 1 academic year of full-time study.** “Experience” refers to paid and unpaid experience. Examples of qualifying unpaid experience may include: volunteer work done through National Service programs (such as Peace Corps and AmeriCorps); as well as work for other community-based philanthropic and social organizations. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills; and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. You must meet all qualifications and eligibility requirements by the closing date of this announcement.
