SUPERVISORY ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-12) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing the following tasks: 1) Applying engineering disciplines (e.g. electrical, electronic, mechanical and structural) to analyze problems from a system viewpoint; 2) Providing input for functional checkouts, tests, and inspection of Combat and Mechanical systems; and 3) Preparing of technical reports and formal correspondence identifying root cause and all aspects of Combat and Mechanical engineering problems and corrections applied. Conditions of Employment: Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101. This position requires incumbent to perform Temporary Duty Travel approximately 10%. ***Physical Demands Visits to ships, dry docks, piers, or work areas are required for information gathering, problem resolution, inspection or certification. Because of the necessity to travel some disruption of work and sleep routine may be encountered. Travel may be by commercial or military aircraft or vehicle. ***Work Environment Work site visits may be required on board naval vessel, in dry dock, dockside, pier side, or in a work area. Work performed in these areas is usually dirty and sometimes exposes personnel to weather, heat, cold, wetness, duct, some, fumes, weld flash, noise, open flame, sparks, lubricants, operating machinery, and hazardous materials. These worksite visits may require the wearing of applicable safety equipment to include hard hats, safety glasses, safety shoes, and occasionally protective clothing, gloves, respirators, masks goggles, shields, ear plugs, or other hearing protection.
