I have one year of information technology related experience in the federal service or private or public sector demonstrating the following four competencies, as defined: 1. Attention to Detail – Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: applying advanced IT principles, concepts, methods, standards, and practices sufficient to accomplish assignments such as developing and interpreting IT policies, procedures, and strategies governing the planning and delivery of products and services. 2.Customer Service – Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: providing expert technical advice and recommendations to customers and other technical specialists on IT issues and problems in order to apply new developments to previously unsolvable problems. 3.Oral Communication – Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: communication both orally and written – sufficient to prepare and present briefs to a wide variety of audiences. 4.Problem Solving – Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: recognize and analyze problems relate4d to all aspects of information system issues, research solutions, summarize results and recommend appropriate actions for solution. In addition to my experience demonstrating the four competencies above, I have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-13) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector as an IT Specialist (Policy/ Planning). Specialized experience may include: 1) Provide and manage network, personal computer, telephone, VTC and application support, ensuring all issues affecting this support are coordinated and implemented with Command Policy. 2) Provides IT advice and assistance to Customers, troubleshooting complex problems to support the business activities 3) Coordinates, manages and validates service on all Command ONE-Net orders through the appropriate regional LNOSC or TNOSC 4) Validates phone requirements against Command Policy. Manages and executes Command IT procurements for hardware, software and services for the entire AOR. 5) Audit requirements for IT computer system and prepare capital investment plans to support the organization’s mission. 6) Utilizing knowledge of innovative information technology (IT) principles, concepts, methods, standards, and practices to apply new developments to previously unsolvable problems/issues. 7) Applying new IT developments and applications to existing infrastructure to identify their impact on existing/other applications and business processes. 8) Evaluating and overseeing information technology programs security and operations; 9) Performs a full range of supervisory duties including planning work, sets and adjust short term priorities and prepare schedules for work completion. Assign work to subordinates based on priorities.
