Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of a(n) ENGINEERING EQUIPMENT OPERATOR~ without more than normal supervision. Operating engineering equipment such as backhoes and front-end loaders to dig, pile, and load dirt; manipulating tractor and equipment controls to accomplish assigned work; operating a variety of engineering equipment on flat and rocky surfaces. – Failure to meet this Screen out Element will result in an ineligible rating. Ability To Do The Work Of The Position Without More Than Normal Supervision Ability to Drive Safely (Motor Vehicles) Ability to perform Motor Vehicle Operator duties w/o more than normal supervision Technical Competence Physical Effort: Exerts strenuous physical effort in frequently adjusting and maneuvering equipment/attachments; subject to constant reaching, bending, turning, and moving of hands, arms, feet and legs. Subject to strain caused by vibrations of equipment and attachments. Occasionally incumbent may be required to lift headstones or sections of pipe with assistance up to 50 pounds per individual. Working Conditions: Works in all types of weather on various surfaces, often in an open drivers seat. Subject to constant exposure to noise, vibration, dust, dirt fumes and injury when moving heavy items into place.
