TELECOMMUNICATIONS SPECIALIST

In addition to the Individual Occupational Requirement (IOR) your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience reviewing frequency assignment proposals for policy, regulations and procedures, and recommending corrective action. Experience reviewing national laws, methods, policy, and procedures pertinent to the frequency assignment function. Experience applying journeyman knowledge of electromagnetic communications, including radio systems and concepts (digital/voice/data) with emphasis in the areas of radio communications operational characteristics of radio transmitting and receiving equipment, radio wave propagation, potential for interference, antenna characteristics, and design features. Experience performing required research, much of which is classified in nature requiring special precautions, individual judgment, and discretion in handling and dissemination needed to provide thoroughly documented and precise results.
