We are seeking a Contracts Specialist to join our client’s team in Albuquerque, NM.
Job Duties:
- Manage the full life cycle of government contracts, including pre-award activities, contract negotiation, administration, and closeout.
- Review and analyze contract terms and conditions to identify potential risks and recommend appropriate actions to mitigate them.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including program managers, legal counsel, and finance teams, to develop contract strategies and ensure compliance with organizational objectives.
- Participate in contract negotiations with vendors and contractors to achieve favorable terms and conditions while protecting the organization’s interests.
- Draft, review, and modify contract documents, including statements of work, amendments, and task orders, to accurately reflect negotiated terms and conditions.
- Conduct thorough contract reviews to ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and organizational policies.
- Provide guidance and advice to internal teams on contract-related matters, including interpretation of contract terms, contract disputes, and claims.
- Monitor contract performance and deliverables to ensure timely and satisfactory completion, and take appropriate actions to address any performance issues or deviations.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date contract records and documentation in compliance with organizational standards and regulatory requirements.
- Support contract closeout activities, including final invoice verification, reconciliation, and contract file archiving.
Qualifications:
- Masters degree.
- 10+ years relevant DoD work with practical hands-on experience in contracts and subcontract.
- Knowledge of FAR and DFAR requirements and experience working with DCAA and DCMA.
- A deep and successful background collaborating with prime contractors and subcontractors including developing and negotiating contracts.
- Strong writing, editing, analytical and team facilitation skills.
- Ability to interact with senior department of defense and other government officials as well as defense contractors at all levels.
