ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN

GS-12: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience and extensive knowledge of principles, concepts, and methodology of electronics, mechanics, and sonar operations to complete engineering manufacturing, operation, and design; Experience and demonstrated expertise in U.S. Navy requirements for the installation of temporary instrumentation and equipment onboard naval submarines and be specialized in the area of mechanics and materials; Experience and working knowledge of U.S. Navy shipboard tag-out procedures, safety rules, and procedures for restoration of ship equipment; Experience as a Subject Matter Expert in the design and installation of multi-instrument systems; Experience and expert skill in electrical and mechanical engineering field installations; Experience and demonstrated proficiency to independently solve complex problems, design and conduct comprehensive engineering studies, and prepare solutions to broad and important engineering contingency areas; Experience and extensive knowledge of Navy submarine engineering requirements to identify and recommend emergent relevant technologies that may result in improvements to both the Navy and UWDC’s Arctic mission; Experience and significant knowledge of AutoCAD (Computer Aided Design Programs) for the creation and production of 3-D printed items is highly desired; Experience and demonstrated proficiency in the use of Microsoft applications (e.g., Word, Excel, Project, Access and Power Point) to develop correspondence, documents and presentations to articulate intent and position across all areas of engineering responsibility.
