Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following and Your experience must reflect skill in the following areas: attention to detail, customer service, oral communication, and problem solving. 1. Attention to Detail – Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Researching course of action for network projects. 2. Customer Service – Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Working with customers to identify and specify network requirements. 3. Oral Communication – Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Recommending network physical security infrastructure to personnel. 4. Problem Solving – Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Ensuring problems concerning access, use, availability of the network are expeditiously resolved. In addition to demonstrating the four competencies above, I have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-09) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing duties such as: 1) Monitoring and maintaining network architecture/infrastructure; configure/optimize network servers, hubs, routers, switches; analyze network workload, monitors network capacity and performance other network and telecommunications issues; 2) Developing network backup and recovery procedures; 3) Installing, testing, maintaining and/or upgrading network operating system software; 4) Proposing connectivity solutions and interact with Regional organization and contractors to ensure work is accomplished and meets design requirements; 5) Ensuring rigorous application of information security/ information assurance policies, principles and practices in the delivery of network services. Additional qualification information can be found from the following Office of Personnel Management website: This position has been designated as a Cyber IT/Cybersecurity Workforce position in the DoD Cyber Workforce Framework (DCWF) role (44, Network Services), proficiency level of Intermediate and as a condition of employment the incumbent of the position is required to maintain qualifications in accordance with DON IT/Cyber Workforce Program requirements of SECNAV M-5239.2, This designation requires: 1. The incumbent participate in a continuous learning (CL) program as described in SECNAVINST 5239.20A and SECNAV M-5239.2. An annual 20 hour minimum of Cyber Workforce related continuous learning must be documented in a current individual development plan signed by both the employee and supervisor. 2. The incumbent must obtain the required qualifying credentials within 12 months of appointment and maintain those credentials as described in SECNAV M-5239.2) for the assigned DCWF role. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
