Neonatologist

Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Neonatologist to join a high-acuity, Level IV Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). This role involves providing comprehensive care for critically ill newborns in a collaborative, academic environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver expert clinical care for neonates in a Level IV NICU setting.
- Work 14 clinical shifts per month, which may include daytime (7:00 AM 4:00 PM) or nighttime (4:00 PM 7:00 AM) coverage.
- Maintain continuous on-site presence during assigned shifts to meet Level IV NICU requirements.
- Collaborate with Neonatal Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) for both day and night coverage.
- Supervise and mentor resident physicians (PGY-2 and PGY-3) rotating through the NICU; program includes 16 residents per PGY class(link removed)>
- Participate in multidisciplinary rounds and contribute to quality improvement initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, safety standards, and evidence-based practices.
Qualifications
- MD or DO degree with board certification/eligibility in Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine.
- Current medical license (or eligibility) in the state of Florida.
- Strong clinical skills and ability to work effectively in a team-based environment.
- Commitment to teaching and mentoring residents and APPs.
Schedule & Environment
- 14 shifts per month (mix of day and night).
- All shifts are hospital-based; no outpatient responsibilities.
- Supported by APPs and resident physicians during all hours.
- Work in a Level IV NICU, providing care for the most complex neonatal cases.
