Radiation Therapist Full-Time Day Shift (Rotating Weekends)

Location: Louisville, Kentucky

Salary Range: $42.99 $54.76 $66.51 per hour (midpoint represents 10 years of experience)

About the Role

The Radiation Therapist administers ionizing radiation treatments, maintains accurate treatment records, participates in patient care, ensures proper equipment functionality, and supports a safe treatment environment. This position offers the opportunity to work with advanced technology and a collaborative team dedicated to exceptional patient care in Radiation Oncology.

Technology & Workflow

• Treatment Systems: Varian TrueBeam linear accelerators




• CT Simulation: Philips CT scanner




• Surface Guided Radiation Therapy (SGRT): Vision RT technology
  Experience with these systems is highly desirable, especially for therapists comfortable with modern workflows and patient setup using SGRT.

Essential Duties

• Perform accurate patient setups per physician and dosimetrist instructions.




• Administer radiation treatments precisely according to oncologist prescriptions.




• Establish priorities when caring for patients and respond to patient/family needs.




• Monitor treatment schedules for timely field revisions, status checks, and dose calculations.




• Communicate schedule changes to patients and organize appointments efficiently.




• Coordinate inpatient and outpatient appointments.




• Refer patients to oncologists for symptom management as needed.




• Maintain patient confidentiality and treat all patients with respect.

Requirements

• Certification:
  
  
  
  • Radiologic Technologist qualified in Radiation Therapy (RTT) ARRT

  
  

  • Kentucky Board of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy (KBIMRT) as a Radiation Operator

  
  

  
  




• BCLS Certification




• Graduation from an accredited Radiation Therapy Program




• Strong patient care and communication skills
