Experience must be IT related; the experience may be demonstrated by paid or unpaid experience and/or completion of specific, intensive training (for example, IT certification), as appropriate. Oral Communication – Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. Problem Solving – Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. AND Minimum Qualifications for the 2210 Occupational Series at the GS-15 grade level: 1 year of specialized experience, equivalent to at least the GS-14 grade level in the Federal service. Examples of specialized experience may include: Specialized Experience may include experience in all of the following: –creating and maintaining an inclusive and diverse workplace environment, fostering development of others and effectively resolving conflicts among staff members; –performing supervisory duties to include assessing work, evaluating performance, and mentoring subordinates; –applying regulatory requirements and legislation as it applies to an enterprise information security program including the Clinger-Cohen Act, FISMA, GPRA, OMB Circular A-130 and OMB Circular A-11; –implementing IT security processes and architectures supporting the security posture of an organization; and –ensuring security of information and information systems supporting Bureau assets such as budget formulation and execution, security auditing, security awareness training, business security policy, and compliance reporting. This position is designated as a SPECIAL SENSITIVE National Security position. Prior to appointment (Entrance on Duty), it requires a fully completed and favorably adjudicated National Security Background Investigation (SSBI or SSBI-PR) that is current (within the last 5 years). Once employed, further processing for special access approval (SCI) will also occur. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
