10 Side gigs that take little to no effort

Now is a better time than ever to look for a side gig to make extra money. Working from home is becoming a staple in our economy these days and there are plenty of ways to cash in on this wave.

If you have any special skills, those can easily be turned into a side gig. If you don’t, it is not hard to learn one for the following gigs I’m going to share with you! I have tried a few of these gigs myself and while some may take longer than others to generate income, it WILL happen!

Let us Focus in!

  1. Blogging

Blogging is the side gig for you if you enjoy working from wherever, whenever. If your passionate about something, then write about it! This makes this side gig fun, but this is not an easy or fast way to make money at first.

Once you start producing quality content and get the hang of advertising and affiliate marketing, the rest falls into place. I’m mentioning blogging first because this is an example of a side gig that can become a primary source of income for you.

Sites like WordPress and Bluehost are good sites to get started on for beginners. Blogs dedicated to subjects you’re interested in are easier because you’re more apt to relate and bring information as well as interesting subjects to the readers. Cooking demos, recipes, trends in fashion, heath subjects, diet trends to fitness are subjects many people are interested and a way to make money. Keep in mind, your first $1000 will be the hardest but after that, easy sailing!

2. Selling unused items online

This side gig is actually one of my favorites because it’s so easy to do! Imagine a constant garage sale where you’re literally selling things you don’t use anywhere from the comfort of your couch or out having lunch.

Sites like OfferUp/LetGo and even Facebook, give you the platform to post anything you want to sell to people locally or around the country. I have seen a really fast turnaround personally selling my unused items on each of those sites and it’s a way to make easy, fast cash.

3. Food Delivery

Delivering with services such as Door Dash, Postmates and UberEATS are also an easy way to make fast money. Some of these sites even let you get a daily payout of your earnings, so this is a highly recommended route.

I personally STILL deliver with these services in my free time because it’s super flexible and fits with my schedule so well.

4. Surveys

Taking surveys is a quick easy way to make money and it can be done from your phone with ease. This won’t bring in the big bucks, but, if you utilize multiple survey sites you will definitely accumulate some extra cash.

Here are some popular survey sites:

With working from home becoming so popular and necessary these days. Virtual assistants are in demand.

5. Become a Virtual Assistant

There are endless tasks that business owners simply don’t have the time to do and they will pay you for it! And the best part is that you can do these tasks from the comfort of your own home.

6. Transcribing

Transcribing is a good side gig for expert typists. If you type faster than 40 WPM, this is the gig for you!

Skills like fast typing without error, time management and research are key to this type of work. Also, if you’re not an expert at typing, there are plenty of online transcription courses that can/ will get you well on your way.

Transcribe Anywhere offers a free mini course on transcription and it is very useful!

7. Reselling

When I say reselling, I don’t want you to get confused with selling unused items you already own.

Reselling falls along the lines of purchasing an item and reselling it at a higher price to make a profit, whether small or large, profit is profit. You can find items at thrift stores, on Craigslist and many other sites. Refurbish the items and resell for a profit. Bargain hunters will have the easiest time with this gig but anyone can do it.

8. Listing on Airbnb

If you have an extra room in your house, own a RV, spend a lot of time away from home or even have an empty garage, you can rent out that space to people. This is a good way to bring in extra cash monthly!

9. Driving for Lyft or Uber

This is one of those gigs that will forever be useful. Lyft and Uber are two of the top online services that everyone uses. You must have a 4-door car and a clean driving record to drive for these services.

10. Sitting Services

Babysitting and Pet sitting are easy ways to make extra cash and if you build rapport with clients you could have a consistent gig on your hands! Sites like Rover and Care.com are good sites to get started on finding gigs near you!
